the Town of East Fremantle moves to make waste costs fairer for all ratepayers The Town of East Fremantle has announced new charges for residents who choose larger or additional household bins following a review that found standard bin users were subsidising the cost through their rates. From July 1, households that maintain the standard waste service of a 140-litre general waste bin, 240-litre recycling bin and 240-litre FOGO bin will not face increased fees. However, residents ordering an additional general waste bin will pay $415 per year, while an extra recycling bin will cost $355 annually. Upgrading to a larger 240-litre general waste bin or a 360-litre recycling bin will each cost $310 per year. A one-off assessment fee of $230 will also apply to applications for upgraded services, covering administrative costs. The new charges are intended to reflect the full cost of bin supply, delivery, installation and ongoing waste collection and processing services.
