Police are searching for several suspects after a late-night attack on a public bus in Currumbin on the Gold Coast. Just before 11:30pm on Saturday night, a group of youths riding e-bikes allegedly hurled rocks at the bus while it was travelling along Teemangum Street. The impact shattered the windscreen and caused the female driver to lose control, sending the vehicle off the road and into a tree. Five passengers were onboard at the time. None suffered physical injuries, but the driver was taken to hospital for observation due to the traumatic nature of the incident. Bus operator condemned the attack and said support was being provided to those affected. Queensland Police Service is investigating and has urged anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward. Authorities said the same group may have targeted another bus earlier that evening, damaging its windscreen. The offenders were reportedly dressed in dark clothing and riding dark-coloured e-bikes.
