The Northern Territory has recorded the strongest tourism growth in Australia, with domestic overnight visitor spending increasing by $523 million to post a 43 per cent rise in the year ending December 2025. Overnight trips to the Territory also climbed by 151,000, an 18 per cent increase compared with the previous year. New figures highlight the NT as the nation’s standout performer, driven by strong interest in destinations such as Alice Springs and the West Mac Donnell Ranges, while older Australians continue to account for a growing share of longer domestic holidays.
