New design visualisations released by Inland Rail offer Wagga Wagga residents a first look at three major bridges to be constructed as part of the national freight rail project. The designs showcase the new Edmondson Street Bridge, the Wagga Wagga Station Footbridge (Mothers Bridge), and the Cassidy Parade Footbridge. All three structures have been developed in partnership with the New South Wales Government and Wagga Wagga City Council and have been reviewed by the NSW State Design Review Panel. The bridges will include accessible ramps and pathways that comply with the Disability Discrimination Act, along with enhanced safety features such as anti-throw screens and handrails. Construction is expected to begin during a scheduled rail shutdown in September, with temporary traffic arrangements and pedestrian access plans to be implemented throughout the multi-month works program
