says his $50,000 donation to the LNP was a goodwill gesture with no influence on planning decisions. Property developer David Trask has made a $50,000 political donation to the Liberal National Party of Queensland to secure a private lunch with Queensland Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie at an industry event held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. The donation comes shortly after the Queensland government lifted an eight-year ban on property developer donations to state political parties. Trask said he has donated to both major parties and described such contributions as goodwill gestures rather than attempts to influence government decisions. Trask's Trask Development Corporation owns land within the North Harbour Priority Development Area near Caboolture. The area was designated a Priority Development Area in 2025 and is overseen by Economic Development Queensland, the agency for which Bleijie is the responsible minister. The development proposal includes plans for thousands of new homes and a large artificial marina. While approvals are still subject to detailed studies and planning assessments, the donation has drawn attention due to the direct connection between the minister and the agency overseeing the project.
